Webspynn #4, Pt.2

(Continued from Webspynn #4, Pt. 1)

More coloring work for HERITAGE COMICS HSQ

WEBSPYNN is an urban super-hero series.  He appeared in the anthology title HSQ #1 & 2, as well as several issues of his own book.

I came in during July-August 2017, when Tyran Eades (who I believe is Andre Campbell's business partner) asked if I'd like to color the newest issue.  I said sure.  It was a nice change from AMERICAN SENTINELS, and I liked Tyran's art better than the stuff in the other book.

I'm waiting for this to come out, and I hope we get to do more of these together.

American Sentinels #6, Pt.2

(Continued from American Sentinels #6, Pt.1)

More coloring work for HERITAGE COMICS HSQ

AMERICAN SENTINELS features a group of "patriotic" themed heroes working for the government to stop trouble around the world.

This was the 3rd full issue of this series I colored.  By this point, I'd stopped using my defective Dell monitor, and was hoping the related coloring problems were behind me.  However, a different problem arose.  There was a 2-1/2 year gap between issues #5 & 6, followed by another year in the middle of doing #6, as a result of Andre running into serious money problems.  What makes this hurt all the more is that issues 4, 5 & 6 form a single 3-part story.  Anyone who's read the first 2 instalments has been waiting way too long for the conclusion.  But as of April 2018, at least, the COLOR is finally done.  Now I have to wait for the printed book myself!

In the meantime, I've gone back and fixed or upgraded any problems I could see in #4 & 5, in case there's ever a 2nd printing (or a collection).  Right now, I'm setting up these blog pages so at least people can see what I've been up to.

American Sentinels #5, Pt.2

(Continued from American Sentinels #5, Pt.1)

More coloring work for HERITAGE COMICS HSQ

AMERICAN SENTINELS features a group of "patriotic" themed heroes working for the government to stop trouble around the world.

This was the 2nd full issue of this series I colored.  It was only when Andre Campbell mailed me a copy of the printed issue that I realized there was a problem.  My Dell monitor has slowly been getting darker and darker, and I was over-compensating, increasing the brightness wityhout even realizing it.  As a result, ALL the color in issues #4 & 5 was too bright, and looked slightly faded-out.  DAMN.

I've since corrected this, and sent Andre new files for future printings.

I've also been using my Gateway monitor, which, although MUCH OLDER than the Dell, has had much better color accuracy. It's got some other technical problem which may force me to replace it eventually, but for now, it'll do.
